Dan Burrell is a pastor, educator, husband, father and thinker. Born and reared in Missouri, after college he moved to Palm Beach County, FL to teach in a church-owned Christian day school. He became the principal of the school at the age of 25 – the youngest principal in the State of Florida at that time. In 1990, now 29, he was called to be the Lead Pastor at the church who owned the school. The Lord blessed greatly during this time and the church began rapidly growing – eventually tripling in size. Dan completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership in 1992 and in 1995 became the President of the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. Dan lead both the church, day school and Christian school association until 2000 when he accepted the Lead Pastor role at a large church and school in Charlotte, NC. In 2011, Dan joined the staff of LIFE Fellowship Church in Cornelius, NC and remains there as the Executive Pastor and also serves as a teaching pastor. Since 2005, Dan has also been a full-time distance learning professor for Liberty University as well as an Instructional Mentor and Doctoral Mentor.
Dan has been active in many other facets of ministry, education and life serving on the boards of five colleges, adoption and pro-life causes, speaking and teaching nationally and internationally, leading an outreach to Cuban Nationals in Cuba, a columnist for Evangelical Press News, a radio commentator, author of 3 books and active blogger.
He and his wife of 33 years, Julie, live in the Lake Norman region of suburban Charlotte, NC. They have 4 adult children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys gardening, raising succulents (proceeds going to his Cuba Ministry), traveling and mentoring college students from local colleges and universities.
